This is a short series of before and after photos showing a former shop in Ashford, Kent that we converted into two one bed flats. The property has been successfully let for a year or so and is managed by our lettings agency Lifeboat Lettings.
Although the existing upper parts could be considered ‘semi-residential’, the conversion involved creating a new, wider staircase and taking down and moving existing partitions to create a more open plan living space and a bedroom. A new communal hallway was created to the side of the existing shop entrance. New separate utilities supplies were required for each property.
The ground floor area required complete conversion from the existing shop to a flat, with new kitchen and bathroom areas being created and a new private entrance and the front and rear. Both properties are electrically heated with modern, efficient heaters.
The project was funded completely using joint venture finance which was ultimately paid back using a commercial mortgage once the property was completed and the flats let out.
The Property Lifeboat buys, develops and lets property predominently in S E Kent. For more information on this project or to find out more about what we do please get in touch.
